Saving & loading
With PureRef, you can save your image collections, so you can get back to them later.
Save
Save > Save
Save the changes in your current file. Opens the Save as dialog if your scene isn't saved yet.
Save as
Save > Save as
Save your scene as a .pur file.
Periodic saving
Periodically saves the scene at a set interval. The default interval is 5 minutes.
• Enable periodic saving - Enable to periodically save your current scene at set intervals, set in minutes.
Use it to make sure the open .pur file is updated without manually saving. If the current scene is not saved yet, this does nothing. Any unsaved changes are always stored to a temporary file, so this setting is not needed to make sure no changes are lost.
• Interval - Set the interval for how often periodic saves occur, in minutes.
Legacy save formats
From PureRef 2.0 the file format of .pur files have changed to accommodate new features and improve save and load performance. The new format also saves images in their original format. This new format can not be opened by older versions of PureRef but old .pur files can still be opened and saved in PureRef 2.0+ (PureRef will ask if you want to re-save to the new format on save).
For newly created scenes, if you want to be able to open them with older versions of PureRef, you can choose to save as a "Legacy PureRef scene" in the Save as type dropdown in the save as dialog.
Keep in mind that saving a scene authored in PureRef 2.0+ as legacy format will discard new features such as drawings and groups and convert all images to PNG.

Selected images
Save > Export > Selected images
Export selected images as separate images to the chosen location.
When exporting images choose to export them as jpg, png or bmp, or keep them in the original format they had when added to PureRef.
The "Export cropping" checkbox controls whether to export the images as they appeared when added to PureRef or just the visible part of the images in case they have been cropped in PureRef. Exporting with cropping does not support exporting the images in their original format as PureRef needs to re-encode the image data.
Exported images will keep their original names by default. Specify a template to use instead in the "Naming" dropdown, or create one using these substitutions:
%0 - Original name
%1 - Sequence number
%2 - Sequence number with leading zeroes
%3 - Scene name
Example: "%2 - %0" results in "01 - Original name.jpg"
Control the order of the exported images by ordering them in the Hierarchy.
