Thank you for the suggestion! Since PureRef 2.0 we save a thumbnail to the header of the .pur file, we've just not yet gotten around to making a thumbnailer for Linux yet. Maybe it would be easier for you to read this data?
There is a setting for always on bottom that you can use, "Always On Bottom".
Thanks for sharing your use case! The font size options in notes are mostly intended for if you wish to have different font sizes within the same note, so you're right that it might make more sense to have a % selector when you're not in editing mode. We'll keep your feedback in mind for future improvements of PureRef!
Thank you for the report! We're sorry to hear it doesn't work for you. Is it possible that your issue is the same as this one?
Regarding 1.11.1, can you give it another go now to see if it works? There seems to have been a hiccup with our ISP.
Thank you for elaborating! So basically you would want to be able to edit a property that is the items scale in % relative to the scene and not the view. Just as a side note; you can use the "Normalize scale" action to make the scale of multiple notes the same. You still can't set the exact % but you can at least make sure notes have the same font size that way.
Thank you for investigating! We're unfortunately a bit at the mercy of how Qt detects if a mouse event is a trackpad or not, and we know that basically all remote desktop software emulates input differently... But we'll investigate and see if we can figure something out!
Thank you for the examples! It is of course possible to add a UI for it but it is more work and requires consideration, while the modifiers can be quickly added so it might be a good first step at least.
What happens when you try to drag & drop? Do you get the "disabled" mouse cursor or any notification? If you can make a screen recording and link it here it would be helpful so that we can see what is going on.
Could you elaborate a bit on what you're doing? Are you trying to recover an auto save with the auto save recover dialog? From the error message it sounds like the file is marked read only for some reason. Maybe if you can make a small screen recording so we can understand better what's going on?
Thank you for the suggestion! We're noting your request but it might be a while before we get to something like this unfortunately, at least the recognition part. Do you know of any other software that does it well? We usually use the new text extraction functionality in Windows snipping tool and create notes from that.
Thank you for the suggestion and the example! We have a few threads about tabs so we might not answer everything but feel free to elaborate on how you would imagine it working. We're collecting and keeping all feedback in mind.
Thank you for the suggestion! We understand that it would be easier if you could see labels on top of the images, but have you tried using the hierarchy view for this? Just selecting an image should highlight its name in the hierarchy if it is open.
Thank you for the suggestion and sorry for the slow response! Would you mind elaborating a bit on how you imagine working with the ratings? Would you want them to be visible at all times? And when you say sort by rating, do you mean like the "arrange by" actions?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, we're keen to keep PureRef as "unbloated" as possible as we keep adding fe
Thanks for the suggestion! Do you mean that you would like continuous select to just invert as shift click does? The reasoning that it doesn't currently is that you would have to be really careful when adding to the selection so that you don't accidentally touch already selected items. Or to add a completely new command for just deselect? Do you know of any specific software that impleme
Thank you for the suggestion! We decided to change the saving flow in 2.0 for a couple of reasons, mainly to make saving as robust as possible and to use less RAM, unfortunately this means that it is not trivial to avoid keeping a copy of the currently loaded scene, that we can operate on without risking the original file. Still, we'll take note of your request and keep it in mind as we impro
Thank you for the suggestion! There's definitely room for improvement in this regard. Would you mind elaborating a bit how you would imagine it working? What kind of UI would you expect where you can select aspect presets? Is there some way it could be done to make sense if there wasn't any presets to chose from as a first step?
Thank you for the suggestion! You can kind of achieve this already by creating a new note, adding a space in it and then resize it to the size you want the background to be. If you have this note selected when you start drawing, the drawing will be parented to the note and move when you move the note. You can also change parenting afterwards in the hierarchy view with drag & drop. But we under
Thank you for the suggestion! Have you tried using grouping for this? You can group single images and set the background color of the group to whatever you would like.
Thanks for the suggestion! Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean and how you would envision it working? We're aware it is currently hard to create precise designs in PureRef since it hasn't really been the purpose of the app, but we're happy to hear what you think is missing.
Thank you for the suggestions and sorry for the slow response!
- In PureRef 2.0.2 we made 0 size .pur files loadable so now you can at least make a new file and manually rename it to .pur and double click it.
- Headers for groups is something we want to add in the future, until then you can always put a note in the group there!
- With "Open in File explorer" do you mean navigate to
We forgot to update this topic but we've made new files with the .pur extension work in the latest versions. There's still no shell integration but now you can at least make a new file and rename it to .pur and then double click it!
Since it was a while we responded to this thread we now know a bit more:
- In Windows, drag & drop will not work if you run PureRef as admin.
- Drag & drop works very different depending on where you drag from. If you have issues with this please specify where you've tried dragging from.
- The first versions of PureRef 2.0 had a bug that made it not work for some people when draggi
Thank you for the report! The separate image data is only kept in the clipboard as long as the file is loaded, so if you copied and then closed the scene to open a new one, pasting pastes the "screen shot" of what you copied which and unfortunately not be unmerged since it doesn't have the original data anymore. What you can do is to open 2 instances of PureRef and copy and paste be
We're not sure what could be the reason for it since the error message is very vague, but does it only happen for one specific scene? Did you check if you're low on space on the C: drive? You can try to change the temporary directory and see if that helps.
@Captain Quertz: Did it work to disable trackpad gestures for you? Another thing we've noticed is that if you're using some kind of remote desktop software it often emulates trackpads, could this be the case for you?
Thank you for the report! The data provided in drag & drop operations from different browsers and applications are unfortunately a mess. In the case of dragging from Google via Chrome, we get a html snippet from which we try to find the url to the image to load. This is not always straight forward so we opted for loading more rather than less to be sure the images you have dragged are loaded.
