Thank you for sharing how you use PureRef, we always love to hear how it is useful for different people :)
Regarding the move to background; this is currently bound to the shortcut down arrow. Find more info here. So if this happens just hit down arrow and the drawing should be on top again. Then you can fix the parenting by selecting the image and then the drawing and hit P.
We understand t
Thank you for the suggestion! We tried to implement this mode a long time ago but never got any feedback on it so it is still not finished unfortunately. If you want to help and give it a try you can enable it by editing the settings file:
Add this line under the section:
ShowInTray=true
And then restart PureRef.
Noted. Did you try the Hierarchy? Or if you just want to fix the parent relationship quickly for drawings that are not parented correctly you can use the Parent shortcut.
> ON TOP
New notes and drawings are automatically parented to the currently selected image. So if you want the drawing or note to always be over the image you're drawing on make sure to select it before starting the draw / creating the note. Parenting can be edited by drag & drop in the hierarchy after the fact, read more in the handbook here.

Thank you for the report! Have you changed the alignment padding setting to 0? We'll try to get this issue fixed in the next version of PureRef. A workaround to get it to work like before 2.1 is to set the alignment padding to 1.
We're sorry to hear that you've lost your work. We took a look at the file and unfortunately it does not seem to be a PureRef file at all, more like a unity game or unity related executable. While it is possible there's a bug somewhere, the only time we've seen files get mixed up like this is when there's a hardware failure, so we would suggest that you keep an eye on your
Thank you for the report! Does this happen with files drag & dropped from your local drive, or is it for images added from a browser? If you use the Show image coordinates feature to inspect the image, does the source file path look correct in there or does it also contain URL encoding (%20)?
Thank you for letting us know! We're always looking to improve performance where we can so it is good to know where there's issues for you. Are you using the grid? If so, does it help with the performance to hide it?
Thank you for the suggestion! We'll keep your suggestion in mind as we continue improving PureRef in the future. If we understand you correctly there might be some workarounds that could work in your case:
If it is mostly just that you want to keep the bounds the same between images, you could use Zoom cropping / Pan cropping to adjust the cropping within the existing image bounds.

Thank you for the report! This is a behavior that we changed in 2.1 due to a lot of users finding it very confusing, and because we added the Duplicate command which retains the parent as a replacement. However, we still provide the old behavior for those who prefer it via the setting Auto parent pasted notes.
We always hate to change functionality that users are used to, but in this case the s
Sorry to hear that the arrange doesn't work well for you in the latest version. Do you have any scene that you can share with us so that we can take a look at it? In that case you can shoot us a message through the contact form on the support page with a link if you don't want to share it here. Or if you're able to make a screen recording showing the issue, that would be super helpf
Thanks for the suggestions! There's some technical issues with 1. but we'll keep it in mind as we improve the cropping. For 2. there is a visual indicator in the Hierarchy on images that are cropped, is that good enough for your case?
@netmano90: Thanks for the input and the gif! We understand the frustration and are keeping this issue in mind for upcoming versions. The reason for the way it works currently is that we've always designed PureRef to be a more dynamic board, where you can create "islands" with different scale easily, because of this the scaling depending on zoom is "required" to make it wo
Thank you for sharing the details, we're still investigating but unfortunately haven't been able to reproduce this issue on our side yet. We've made some small changes in the startup sequence in the new version, 2.1.1, so it would be interesting to know if updating makes any difference for you?
Thank you for the details! We can see the usefulness of being able to update the source manually and will keep it in mind as we continue to improve PureRef in the future!
There's currently no way to search for content in a scene unfortunately, but we'll make a note that this is something you would like to see in a future version of PureRef.
Thank you for the suggestion! PureRef does have a rudimentary Command palette that you can access either with the shortcut or just typing in the right click menu. It is a bit hidden so we would love to hear your feedback on it if you find it useful!
Would you say that F3 is the standard shortcut for this?
Thank you for the suggestion! Which operating system are you on? We have a function that should notice changes after a save in another instance and ask if you want to reload, but you're right in that it doesn't sync live like you mention. We'll keep this in mind as we further develop speed and function.
