Draw infinite vertical and horizontal ruler guide lines centered on cursor when holding C to crop.

With visible ruler guides parented to the cursor, cropping accuracy is easy.
Sometimes you want to drag about a box over a specific area and need to know the first point you define lines up with something.
On May 2020 we got an official response to this feature request, here: https://www.pureref.com/forum/read.php?3,1900,1900#msg-1900
Looks like they want to do it, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
What if the right-click menu included some useful stats for the respective pureref file?
See mockup: https://i.imgur.com/hGhH6Cs.png
Informative, useful, and not using existing ui (though I don't think windows forms natively allows text formatting in RMB menus).
Not a "bug" per sé, but some subpar behavior.
- Steps to reproduce the error:
Add images to a PureRef file as linked images.
Close PureRef file.
Use Photoshop to scale said images down to 50%.
Open PureRef file and it'll look like this: https://i.imgur.com/JxDUc68.png
- Provide details:
All the images in the PureRef file screenshot linked above have to have their crop
My experience:
A pureref file may consist of embedded images and externally referenced images. This is great,
. . . but when you NEED to embed all images into the pureref file because linked images need to be moved or deleted, or the pureref file in question needs to be uploaded somewhere, I don't see a way to manually embed all images to ensure the pureref is safe to send out.

Oh, that's a surprise - I had no idea there was any semblance of parenting in PureRef whatsoever.
From now on I'll be careful to deselect everything before making a note.
Thanks for the explanation.
idea:
As for visually describing to users what is parented with what, maybe a dashed line drawn from child to parent would help - visible only when one or the other is selected.

Latest update appears to have broken PureRef.
After installing today's update, PureRef no longer runs on my Windows 10 system. When I try to run it, nothing happens.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Issue persists. I can no longer use view my PureRef files because the older version I kept as a backup is not compatible with my any of my current PureRef files. I'm dead
I have two notes in a PureRef file that move together when I move another note.
I have no idea how I managed this. It's very undesirable behavior. Reminds me of linked layers in Photoshop, but I don't see any commands for it in PureRef. Is this actually a bug?
Fixed it by copying the misbehaving notes to a new PureRef file, then back to the affected PureRef file.

Minor bug:
If I open a large PureRef file and it opens as already maximized AND I right-click in the maximized window to unmaximize and move it around WHILE it's still loading, then I can no longer maximize the window.
Neither the keyboard shortcut or right-click menu command - Window > Maximize have any effect.
The key to reproducing the bug is moving the window around while the Pur
Windows users with a lot of applications open may have a crowded task bar so the width of each open app's portion gets smaller and smaller on the task bar.
Here's a screenshot of the part of my task bar being used for the three PureRef files I'm currently using while working:

UPDATE - scrubby zoom already exists in PureRef. I stupidly missed it somehow. It's even mapped to Z+LMB, just like Photoshop.

Honestly just disregard my spam post. This is more than enough for non-mouse users. Praise the sun.
Add a new object to PureRef in the form of a rectangular box which can be used to "group" and label images, as well as easily move images that overlap it.

Here's an example from Unreal Engine; a similar situation -
This is a node graph in Unreal Engine (used to create shaders):

PureRef could be even more convenient to navigate if there was a way to zoom in and out without requiring a mouse.
Mouse isn't needed to pan. So why not allow zooming as well?
Tablet users and screen tablet users (wacom cintiq, etc) often don't have a hand on their mouse while working, but in order to adjust zoom in a PureRef file, they must use their mouse scrollwheel just to zoom.
Two ways to pan canvas -
1) Hold and drag mouse middle mouse button. (works whether full-screen or not)
2) Hold left or right ALT key + left mouse button.
Right-click mouse button dragging will move the entire window, though it used to pan the canvas, it no longer does.
Currently GIFs can be added to any PUREREF file, but the animation is ignored. First frame is displayed as a static image.
It would be amazing if PUREREF would honor an animated GIF's animation.
There's currently no efficient way (that I'm aware of) to view a collection of animated GIF files and see their animations.
If supported, GIF animations may be toggled off by default
Add new image alignment options that will:
1) Space images evenly apart, based on their centers.
2) Align images, based on their centers.
This would entail adding four new options to the Right Click>Images>Align menu:
Distribute Horizontal
Distribute Vertical
Center Horizontal
Center Vertical

Photoshop provides distribute options when three or more layers are selec
I was using the previous version - v1.10.0.
Yes, the setting is remembered per session, so no problem there. I can turn off bilinear (so images are crisp and unblurred), then close PureRef and re-open the same file with all the pixel art images and it's good to go.
Also - I just noticed the new version and updated. No problems - the bilinear setting is remembered after saving and closin
I have a large PUREREF file which I store pixel art images in, so I've toggled off bilinear sampling on all of them (ALT+T).
Today I noticed all images were bilinear smoothed and had to select all images and toggle bilinear again to get them to display correctly.
I had just updated my PUREREF to v1.10.1 so I suspect updating is related.
