> No, the bug remains. Try to create a large number of bullet points with texts of different colors. And spam by random pieces of texts to random places. Soon parts of the text will begin to disappear.
> Are you able to share any of the big scenes so we can take a look?
Sorry, cannot.
> Do you notice any performance difference when navigating the scene between the 2 versions?
Not really. Perhaps, newer one have more lags during abrupt moves of camera.
I want to offer a few probable solutions:
1. Setting or menu mode "Text low memory mode." Everything works as in previ
If folder have numbered canvases, like: 1cats.pur, 2 fish.pur, 3.dogs.pur.
When one of them are opened, they incrementally showed in one-line tabs menu.
"1cats 2 fish 3.dogs"
But, after click on, for example, 3 fish.pur occurs additional scanning of folder for 3_* canvases.
Which shown as second level of tabs.
"1cats 2 fish [3.dogs]"
"3_1 Chihuahua
This solved two bugs but resulted in bigger memory usage.

New canvas with 105kb of text - 45mb memory.

Canvas 3, few texts - 345mb.

New canvas with 105kb of text - 606mb memory.
Canvas 1 - 4,832mb memory.

Possibility to control camera by WASD, arrows, or other set keyboard shortcuts.
Preferably with Zoom shortcuts which work without delays after pressing of the key.
Thanks to you too! Eagerly look forward to next version, and I sincerely hope that it will have tabs.
>We're not sure if the second issue you mention is the same issue but let us know if you manage to figure out a repro case for that and we will test and verify.
Steps to reproduce second bug:
1. Create note with big text.
2. Open few sites with heavily formatting texts.
3. Copy
Steps to reproduce:
1. In the new canvas create note with 16 font size text:

> The Cache on disk performance mode basically does exactly what you describe, it creates LODs/Mips, and only keeps the visible images in RAM.
My big canvases, both in "Cache on disk" and "No cache" performance mode, lagging during camera movements. Sometimes for a few seconds.
If I re-save files as .jpg and then re-upload them to canvas, it would lag less, but still.
I
>Yes. Or load them from their original locations, if possible - this way we don't need a second file, as long as the original files still exist. Or when we have not saved a project yet.
.pur file - main base. .purs - disposable cache versions of main base. Their merging will only create confusion and inconvenience. Generation of .purs after opening of .pur will significantly and unneces
Seconded. I'll even say that tabs should be a main priority.

If you are talking about creation of links or file icons after drag and drop files into PureRef, then I also fully support this.
I agree with no1a and also would like to see something in between downscaling and "No cache" Performance Mode.
For example:
PureRef create two .pur files. .pur and .purs, but only the first file could be opened. The first file stores pictures without downscale, and second - with downscaling.
By default, PureRef show downscaling files. But, if the user selects them, or activates Orig
>Not exactly sure what you mean by the last question but yes, both "./1.txt" and "1.txt" will work, but not "/1.txt".
Selection of file from subfolder generating ./1.txt link. To differentiate .pur subfolder from other folders.
But when writing link by themselves, users could use as ./1.txt as well as 1.txt options.
>To make these changes the link probably needs a bunch of settings since we can see the need for both behaviors. Or maybe it should be possible to right click a link?
As I see it. Insert link have 3 browse buttons.
1. First create links to folders, as now. Such links created as bold.
2. The second create links to files. Both links open by Ctrl + click. But Ctrl + Shift + click on a file li
If browse button was used to select folder, then click on link will open the folder. If was selected a file, then file.
It would be very convenient if near the browse button would be a relocation check mark which would relocate the selected file to a folder near .pur file. With the same name as .pur canvas.
Also, for example. I have test5.pur file and near it test5 folder with 1.txt file. I
I use groups not so much to move them as to visually distinguish groups of pictures. Disabling group selection by Alt+L.
It would be more convenient for me if Alt+L lock for groups could be activated not only by hotkey but also by button.
I completely agree. Headers - the most convenient way to name and move groups.
It will also simplify the implementation of near “Suggestion - Pure Ref 2 Beta - Easy way to name groups” by possibility to hide unneeded groups via header button.
Also, it would be great if any files dropped into a group would automatically save to a subfolder near .pur, with the same name as the group name. And w
> 1. Regarding the font bug; do you have a repro for this or does it happen randomly? If we can repro it we can probably look into fixing it!
Bug occurred with 2,7gb canvas. After I divided it into two 1,4gb canvases, the bug disappeared.
1. The bug appeared suddenly, without any trigger, after 5-10 minutes of work with reopened canvas. And is clearly connected with some font caching error.
I will add that for good navigation, PureRef need 3 search functions:
1. Search in Hierarchy.
2. Local search in note.
3. Global search in notes.
For exactly fast navigation, the first option, possibility to use groups, images, and text titles as parts of bookmark system, the most needed.
More so if divide Hierarchy window into two parts, groups and ungrouped files, and teleport camera to g
At first, I want to thank all PureRef developers for wonderful, after so many years still unique and irreplaceable, software.
Secondly, I want to suggest a few ideas which I accumulated after 5 years of PureRef use. And which I see as the most complementary to modern PureRef functionality.
Most important suggestion - collapsible groups which work as sub-canvases.
