But since that's over a year old, seems like maybe a good idea to post it again. And with more detail!

1. Create a text note
2. Copy that text note with Ctrl-C
3. Paste with Ctrl-V
4. Freely move the newly-pasted text note by itself
5. Now try to move the original text note, and notice that the copy also moves with it.

Using the right-click menu to perform the copy and paste seems to solve the issue. But only if the original note hadn't been affect by a Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V copy.

Neither combo of using Ctrl-C and right-click paste, nor right-click copy and Ctrl-V cause the issue.

Here's an example gif

To begin, I just discovered PureRef few month ago and I love it to organize images.

I agree with MarcDillon, this copy/paste "bug" (I don't really know if the way it works is by purpose or not) is really annoying.
The way copies are "linked" to the original can make the mess in a well organized PureRef project.

I think all copy/paste elements should be child of root node, so that every element is free, and add a "grouping/ungrouping feature" to PureRef for those (like me) who need to have several elements move together.

Many thanks for your attention.
The way it works currently is that any new notes are parented to the currently selected item. We're aware its not the most intuitive feature and are considering ways to make it more obvious what's going on. In PureRef 2.0 we've added a Hierarchy view (or outliner) where you can manually reorder and reparent items after they have been created. You can read more about it in the handbook: https://pureref.com/handbook/2.0/features/#hierarchy. It's available as a beta on the download page now if you want to give it a try!
