Hi, thank you very much for creating such a lovely piece of software.

I’d like to suggest a possible feature that could be helpful. When I add images, I often attach a note to record the source of the image (for example, the link where it was found). The challenge is that these notes take up space on the canvas, which makes it harder to arrange images cleanly when building a mood board.

It would be great if images in PureRef could include hidden information, such as a small comment or source link, stored as metadata rather than displayed directly on the canvas. This would allow users to keep important reference information attached to the image without affecting the visual layout.

This way, I could store the image’s source link while keeping the mood board itself clean and uncluttered.

Apologies if this functionality already exists and I’ve simply missed it.

Thanks again for the great work.

Thank you for the suggestion! You can use the Comment feature to add hidden notes to items. PureRef also tries to store the original location of images (works mostly when you drag & drop) that you can access with the Open source command.
Hi! Thanks for the reply! Those two features are great!

Still, I think they don't quite solve what I had in mind to de-clutter the canvas: The Open Source feature is useful, but it doesn’t allow me to edit the source link. As a result, it often just points to the local file path, whereas in many cases I’d prefer it to link to the original webpage where the image came from.

I understand that dragging and dropping directly from the web can preserve the source, but having the flexibility to manually edit or assign the source link would be really helpful. I think it could be a nice addition for users who want to keep track of references without adding visible notes to the canvas.

This is my current canvas and you can see how it is not ideal with notes: https://imgur.com/a/Am4deDf

Thank you for the details! We can see the usefulness of being able to update the source manually and will keep it in mind as we continue to improve PureRef in the future!
