This is a feature that I desperatley wish for, I miss it every day! I wish I could create a duplicate of something by dragging and dropping while holding a keyboard key, for example Shift, Alt or Ctrl. A lot of other software I use have this and its frustrating we dont have it in PureRef.

It could look something like this:
1. Select image/text/drawing
2. Hold hotkey (for example Alt)
3. Use left mouse to drag image/text/drawing somewhere else, creating a duplicate
4. Release left mouse to place duplicate

Some software also has this with alignment built in. For example, in step 2 above, if you also hold another hotkey (like Shift), the duplicate will allign with the original in either X or Y axis, depending on the direction you drag. That way you could have very organized duplicates. As of right now I duplicate elements using basic copy and paste, and try to align it just eyeballing it, then holding shift to keep the somewhat correct position while I drag it in X or Y.

Thank you for all the work you do <3
Thank you for the suggestion! We'll be adding a duplicate action in the next version of PureRef that will create a duplicate under the mouse cursor when pressed. While it won't work exactly as you describe above maybe it will be helpful as a first step?
We've just released a beta version of PureRef 2.1.0 that has the shortcut Ctrl+D to duplicate, please give it a try and let us know if it helps!
