it's a little tweak, yet I would suggest to change the dialog box on exit when there are some unsaved changes from:

"do you want to exit anyway"

to

"Do you want to save the scene"

Ok Cancel

it's convenient and pretty common among many softwares

We could just add a 3rd button in the existing dialog for saving before closing, does that sound good?

It should be classic solution like:

"The scene has been modified.
Do you want to save your changes?"

YES NO CANCEL
