Firstly, this program has been a lifesaver, and ver.2 fixed and improved basically everything about it. My only problem is that it makes an autosave of the currently opened file in a temp directory and there's no way to disable it, even if I set autosave and cache to off. In a worst case scenario this can amount to gigabytes of daily redudant writes to the SSD. Please add an option to disable this if possible.
Thank you for the suggestion! We decided to change the saving flow in 2.0 for a couple of reasons, mainly to make saving as robust as possible and to use less RAM, unfortunately this means that it is not trivial to avoid keeping a copy of the currently loaded scene, that we can operate on without risking the original file. Still, we'll take note of your request and keep it in mind as we improve PureRef in the future!
Hi
I agree with that, having hidden temp files on hard drive coming from every software installed on a computer that never disappear by themshelves is a big problem!
After all, PureRef is only a viewer, not a maker of pictures, saving a text file with the path of the pictures and a low version should be enough in case of "failure"
You could purge temp files on exit, or add a menu to manually aware users to do it
