First of all, thanks for this new 2.0 version, so happy to see that PureRef is still an alive project, and that you considered some high-requested features.

Secondly, I just want to say that I do not agree with most of people requests like adding video, 3D or other file formats support, for me PureRef is "a simple image viewer", It has to keep a lightweight and simple image viewer, adding too much features/formats would make it a "tote bag"...

My requested feature is very simple : PureRef is mainly used to organize image based projects, but it lacks of a "rating" feature.
It would be really nice to have a simple rating feature, for example with "stars" (like in Windows Explorer, or Adobe Bridge), or a mark out of 10.
It could nice to also add a way to sort images by their rating.

Thank you for the suggestion and sorry for the slow response! Would you mind elaborating a bit on how you imagine working with the ratings? Would you want them to be visible at all times? And when you say sort by rating, do you mean like the "arrange by" actions?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, we're keen to keep PureRef as "unbloated" as possible as we keep adding features in the future, so we'll take care to keep it lightweight for sure!

Manu users use PureRef to make an « images review » , for exemple have a global overview of a shooting (with hundreds of photos), and select which ones are good, bad, or none of the 2. By « rating feature », i mean the same feature as many other softwares (like Adobe Bridge, CaptureOne, Lightroom, or even Windows Explorer) : the ability to put between 0 and 5 stars on images (or a » color tag » like in MacOS).
I imagine a toggle in the option settings (with a keyboard shortcut) to show/hide all the ratings, and even another settings to choose where to put the rating infirmation (above or below the image, or over the image, on a corner… even which size)
And finaly, yes by « sort by rating » I mean an « arrange by » rating, to have for exemple all « 5 stars » all together, then all the « 4 stars » etc…

I think this little rating feature would be very usefull and keep PureRef a simple app.
