In v1.1 the pur file took more disk space compared to the combined size of all images imported. If images loaded are jpg the difference is quite big.
I noticed in v2.0 pur file size is similar to size of all images as it takes into account their type.

Is it possible to convert the already imported images to jpg and loose the original format? I mean to do this in the pur file itself to keep the layout, not by exporting.
This would reduce pur file size.
Thank you for the suggestion! We're looking into this and will see what we can do in future versions of PureRef. It would also be useful for when importing larger formats since PureRef 2.0 currently saves them in their original format and that can impact loading performance quite a bit if you add a lot of images from a format that is very heavy to load.
We've just released a beta version of PureRef 2.1.0 which includes a new image management tool that you can use to optimize scenes to make them load faster, read more here.

There's also a new setting Auto optimize imported images that can be used to compress images on import to mimic how it worked in PureRef 1 for even better load performance. Please give it a try and let us know if it helps!
