Since I use a CAD mouse (AKA "3Dconnexion", "space mouse", "6DoF mouse", "3D mouse" ), I wish I could pan & zoom around my PureRef canvas smoothly with my 3D mouse like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/375ud7ejkkjx8oa/2022-03-17%2014-54-10.mkv?dl=0
General video on 3D mouse: https://youtu.be/qeGbIJ5FnyI

Note: PAN and ZOOM only. for 2D applications, the rotations are not needed.
Note 2: PAN and ZOOM are to work simultaneously for the smoothest experience (not as dominating axis mode)
Can we please get support for the 3dconnexion space mouse

This device is used for navigating 2D or 3D scenes. Its very popular and it has wide ranging support in software's such as:
1 - Adobe Photoshop
2 - Autodesk Maya
3 - Autodesk 3DX Max
4 - SideFx Houdini
5 - Zbrush
6 - Blender
7 - Web browsers such as Chrome and Edge
8 - Sketchup 3D
9 - SolidWorks

and many others. I listed a lot of names because that's just how common it is. Me and a colleagues swear by this device and on the rare case we come across a software that does not support, it quite frankly feels like having one hand tied behind your back.

The space mouse is the ideal device for smooth navigation in PureRef. With it becomes possible to zoom and pan at same time, rather than one at a time.

To learn more about the device see (There are different models of it, the differences are merely additional keyboard keys:

And these videos show case its use cases:

Please consider it.

3dconnexion has a special section on their forums for developers whom want to support their device:

I can fully vouch for them, they have helped me many times with implementing their device in personal projects, which I found to be straight forward processs, they have lots of code examples for leveraging the device.

It is supported for use on Windows, Mac and Linux.

If you are within the UK, I would gladly ship you a new model for use with development and testing. Please feel free to let me know. I can post it to a public PO Box. Also their cheapest model is around £70.

I would be so happy be able to use this device in PureRef!

(@randy_orton88 we merged your topic with this older one)

Thank you for the suggestion! We've taken a quick look at this in the past and were a bit put off by the fact that the sdk is only available on request, but we'll consider it again in the future.

Also we've only had this requested once before in all the years so it hasn't been very high prio for us yet, so if anyone else reads this and also want this supported please let us know so we can prioritize it properly!

We're unfortunately located in Sweden so just the shipping might not be worth it, but we appreciate the offer to send us one!
Same request. I would love for Pureref to be compatible with the 3D Space Mouse.
