Heya,

Thanks for the awesome app I'm loving it so far!

Was wondering if there was any chance of a "masonry" grid being added, sort of like this:

Of course there will probably be many challenges with this such as fixed width and height and maybe also padding.

My friend was also wondering if it were possible to move images out of the way when scaling so that they don't overlap. The two could go hand in hand in the way that, when you scale up and an image hits the edge of the canvas it can drop down to the next row. So the grid auto-arranges itself based on size.

Edit:

I forgot something else too.

Is there any chance we can still Focus on images with a double click after they've been locked?

Have you tried the Align Optimal/Pack functionality(Ctrl+P and Ctrl+Shift+P) along with the Same Width/Height functionality(Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right)?

In case you have, what do you feel is missing from those features?

The padding of the Align functions can be customized in settings as well.

The packing is fast so it can be executed instantly after performing a transform on the selected images, is this sufficient for your friends needs?

There are some mathematical issues with calculating a good pack on a set of images with varying sizes (Google "bin packing" if interested) and we realize it might not always be optimal but using the Same Width or Same Height function before packing almost always results in tightly stacked images.

For your last question: All navigational controls should be available while the scene is locked in the next version of PureRef, thanks for the suggestion.
Ooooohhhkay, you just showed me a whole new feature that made me love your app even more. Disregard that first part about masonry grid I much prefer the customizability you've got going on.

I'll take a look at bin packing just because I find this sort of stuff interesting :)

Awesome cheers!
