I noticed the app has gotten some quite a lot of updates since January which is very nice. My question is why is the minimal requirements now 10.11.12 actually? I mean the app is still running from a QT-Framework I think. Has there been so many changes to the core that one now needs at least 10.11.12?
I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, just would like to know the technical aspect of it
I just read the FAQ, https://www.pureref.com/support.php on why 10.11.12 is needed now, perhaps I'm getting it wrong. But the reason is not very clear. Is this because the frame-work now has better support? Updating to 10.11.12 because its free sounds just weird
I checked some fact on QT-framework and I'm wondering now what version of QT is used. On their site I see that latest build (5.9) still supports 10.11.6

Im was already thinking of upgrading for a while but kept post-poning it. Perhaps I should just give up El Capitain.
We would love to support older version of macOS, unfortunately Qt has decided to drop support a lot quicker than we would have hoped. We're currently using Qt 5.12 and, as you found for 5.9, here's the supported platforms list https://doc.qt.io/qt-5.12/supported-platforms.html. We made the decision to update to Qt 5.12 to get more High-DPI support which has been a highly requested feature.
